As you all knew, right now Microsoft is basically focusing on an improvement of Windows 10 by providing regular updates. Microsoft is making Windows 10 better day by day to give a very tight competition to Linux and this time Microsoft is bringing a new update by which Linux GUI apps can run smoothly on Windows 10.

Microsoft is now bringing Linux GUI apps to Windows 10. To run these apps, Microsoft is adding full Linux kernel to Windows 10 with WSL version 2 in update later this month. The important point is these apps will runs without X11 forwarding.

According to The Verge "While it has been possible to run Linux GUI apps within Windows previously using a third-party X server, poor graphics performance has always been an issue. Microsoft is promising to solve this, too. Windows 10 will soon get added support for GPU hardware acceleration with Linux tools".
According to the above statement Microsoft promises that to run these GUI apps smoothly, GPU hardware acceleration will available soon to Windows 10. Because previously users are facing many issues like poor graphics, performance issues and many more.

All these Linux GUI apps will run alongside with other Windows apps.

What other actions Microsoft is taking to take over Linux ?

Microsoft is already taken many actions to take over Linux. Some actions are quite appreciable. From recent time-period Microsoft is already taking some unimaginable actions, like by adding Bash Shell to Windows 10, native OpenSSH and even Ubuntu, SUSE Linux and Fedora is available on Windows Microsoft Store.
