Pixar's Soul is going to release on Disney Plus

Pixar is ready to release its animated film Soul on the Disney Plus platform, instead of premiering in theaters because of the pandemic. The Soul was to hit the theaters in November. But because of the Coronavirus, now this film is ready to release on December 25. Soul will not be a Premier title, meaning that it will be free to all Disney Plus subscribers.

The Soul is going to be the first animated movie for Disney to launch in this lockdown on its platform. Now the theater is not a go-to option for many big giants such as Pixar and even Warner Bros. Many of the theaters are now open in strict restrictions, but they can not predict the behavior of the audience whether they will like to watch the movie in theater or not. Warner Bros. released Christopher Nolan’s Tenet globally, and while it performed decently overseas, it hasn’t seen stellar results in the United States.

This pandemic was pretty fair for Disney Plus in terms of users. Because during lockdown Disney Plus gain a massive number of subscribers, approximately 60 million subscribers. When Disney brought Hamilton to its streaming service, the company saw several new signups, CEO Bob Chapek told staff in an all-hands meeting this past summer.

According to The Verge "Soul follows a middle-school music teacher named Joe (voiced by Jamie Foxx) who finds himself in a metaphysical world where new souls are created. Stuck in this new and strange place, Joe teams up with one soul (voiced by Tina Fey) to try and explain why life is so wonderful.

Clearly, Disney is hoping that with families stuck at home, and people needing something to watch, Soul will help boost Disney Plus numbers and keep people watching."

Earable computing timeline, according to SyNRG. Credit: University of Illinois Grainger College of Engineering  CSL's Systems and Networking Research Group (SyNRG) is defining a new sub-area of mobile technology that they call "earable computing." The team believes that earphones will be the next significant milestone in wearable devices, and that new hardware, software, and apps will all run on this platform. "The leap from today's earphones to 'earables' would mimic the transformation that we had seen from basic phones to smartphones," said Romit Roy Choudhury, professor in electrical and computer engineering (ECE). "Today's smartphones are hardly a calling device anymore, much like how tomorrow's earables will hardly be a smartphone accessory." Instead, the group believes tomorrow's earphones will continuously sense human behavior , run acoustic augmented reality, have Alexa and Siri whisper just-in-time inform...
